When you first enter a new map section, scan for clusters rather than individual trees. Dense groups of three or more trees in close proximity are often worth more than scattered high-value targets because they reduce travel overhead and keep your harvest momentum going.

Route design matters as much as tree selection. The strongest paths form loops: start from the mill, move through a harvest cluster, and return without retracing your steps. Circular routes are consistently faster than out-and-back patterns, especially when your truck capacity increases.

As you progress, revisit and redraw your routes. Early game paths that made sense with a small truck may become inefficient once you have upgraded storage and speed. The players who adapt their routes to new capabilities see steady improvement, while those who stick to old patterns plateau.

Pay attention to terrain and obstacles. Routes that look straight on the map may actually be slower due to hills, water, or other barriers. Sometimes a slightly longer path on open ground is faster than a direct route through difficult terrain.
